Description
The mayor of Janvry (Essone), south of Paris, had planned a camel parade around the Eiffel Tower on Saturday, but the Prefecture of Police issued an order banning the event. Organisers had lodged an appeal with the administrative court, claiming that a camel parade bringing together 34 delegations from all over the world in these troubled times "would have been a good diplomatic coup" for France.
