Description
"I have been scared for my husband’s life since 2015" says Evgenia Kara-Murza, wife of Russian political prisoner Vladimir Kara-Murza, in Geneva. She says she is in favour of prisoner exchanges to rescue him and other political detainees in Russia. It comes after the death of Russian opposition politician Alexei Navalny in an Arctic prison colony last month, when his team revealed that a deal to free him as part of a prisoner swap had been "at the final stage" before he died. Representatives of Human Rights defence centre "Memorial" also voice alarm over images of the four alleged perpetrators of a recent attack on a Moscow concert hall, who were brought to court showing signs of torture.
