Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides meets with Lebanon Prime Minister Najib Mikati in Beirut after a surge in mostly Syrian refugees arriving to the Mediterranean island via Lebanon. Nicosia, which for several years has had an agreement with Beirut for the return of irregular migrants, last week urged Brussels to intervene and compel Lebanon to stop migrant boats from leaving for Cyprus.
