Description
Rwanda's President Paul Kagame says that his country's relationship with France is "good" and "progress" has been made in that regard, despite a "long history of problems" between the two countries who have clashed diplomatically in the past on the issue of France's role before, during and after the genocide. "We are still on the side of wanting to continue making progress irrespective of the bad history we've had," Kagame tells reporters at a press conference in the capital Kigali, a day after Rwanda held a solemn ceremony to mark the 30th anniversary of the genocide which claimed the lives of 800,000 people.
