Description
"We are facing a water crisis here in this city," says Saleh Ali Abderrahman, as he queues to fill his tank in Port Sudan, a coastal city in the east of Sudan adding that "every day, we wait impatiently for the tankers to arrive." Port Sudan is facing a chronic shortage of water, particularly during the hot period from April to October, and the cost of the precious liquid has multiplied, partly because of the arrival of thousands of displaced families, and partly because of the chaos wreaked by the fighting on the country's fragile infrastructure.
