Description
Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos said Monday the United States would not be given access to more Philippine military bases.
Marcos's remarks came days after a trilateral summit between the United States, Japan and the Philippines in Washington where tensions over the disputed South China Sea were high on the agenda.
During a a forum with the Foreign Correspondents Association of the Philippines, Marcos also said his country's mutual defence treaty with the United States would be invoked if a "foreign power" killed a Filipino soldier.
Marcos also reiterated, the International Criminal Court "has no jurisdiction" over his country and that we would not hand his predecessor Rodrigo Duterte to the international court, which is investigating his deadly drug war. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
