Description
Adorned with jaguar teeth and feathers, Colombian healer Claudino Perez serves his followers a dark and thick liquid called ayahuasca. He is back practising his ceremonies after spending two years in prison in Mexico for transporting the ancestral drink of the Amazon Indigenous people. But Perez's story is one of many Indigenous shamans who have been arrested for transporting ayahuasca through immigration customs, including Peruvians Jose Campos and Lauro Hinostroza.
