The adoption of the new Togolese Constitution on Friday, April 19, unanimously by the Togolese MPs, further fuels the tension between the ruling party and the opposition, just nine days before the legislative and regional elections. During a press conference in Lomé, the opposition calls for the mobilization of Togolese citizens against the regime of Faure Gnassingbé, who has been in power since 2005 following his father's nearly 38-year rule of the country.
