Description
People in Chad's capital N'Djamena discuss the country's presidential election the day after the vote which was aimed at ending three years of military rule that opponents of junta leader Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno have dismissed as fixed. "I didn't go to vote because I'm angry with the Chadian government", says moto-taxi driver Mohamed Dembele. Fellow moto-taxi driver Mahamad Nour Idriss has a more positive view. "It went well. The ballot boxes have already been counted and now we're just waiting for the results," Idriss says. The election results are expected on May 21, with a possible second round on June 22.
