Costing 53 million euros, a new children's cancer hospital in Romania has been built entirely through donations. No fewer than 350,000 people and almost 8,000 companies contributed, frustrated by inadequate facilities in the EU country with the lowest public spending on health. "It's something that shows that anything is possible when you have a plan, when you are transparent," says Carmen Uscatu, co-founder of the Give Life association that drove the initiative.
