Description
Aboard a restored ship, scientists and environmentalists replicate the voyage of naturalist Charles Darwin, who in 1835 arrived at the Galapagos Islands off the coast of Ecuador. In tribute to Darwin's work, the the Darwin200 project, which has been underway for a decade, seeks to train new conservationist leaders.
"I think if he were able to come back now and see the efforts that everybody is making, both locally and globally, to protect these extraordinary islands and that biodiversity, I think he'd be really, really excited and impressed," says Sarah Darwin, botanist and descendant of Charles Darwin.
