Description
Tajikistan has set food security as a national strategic objective with president Emomali Rakhmon urging every family to have two-year food reserves to protect themselves in a country that faces low agricultural output and climate change. But saving a lot of food is difficult for the majority of Tajiks, who earn an average monthly income of less than 200 euros. "We buy food from day to day. If we earned more money, we would make reserves," nurse Mavzuna Chakalova says. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
