The Israeli army "subjected us to beatings, torture, and humiliation" recounts a Palestinian man who was detained in Gaza after his release alongside other detainees through the "Zikim" checkpoint west of Beit Lahia, in the northern Gaza Strip. "We couldn't sleep at all — there was no bathroom, no food, and no water" says a fellow released prisoner from Beit Hanoun lying in a hospital bed after being reunited with his daughter.
