Kyiv presents its new outfits for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Sport, Ukraine has lost 479 athletes at the frontline and more than 3,000 others were mobilised to fight. Presented at the Kyiv Olympics, the shirts were supplied by a Polish manufacturer. Pale yellow and deep blue, the shirts feature the colours of the Ukrainian national flag. Some are printed with ears of wheat, while others are embroidered with vychyvanka braids, traditional embroideries widespread in Ukraine, forming the word “victory”. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
