Sao Paulo residents react to the dollar reaching a new record high since January 10, 2022, after Brazilian President Lula criticized the central bank, saying that the interest rate against the local currency, the real, is speculative. "The population will be greatly affected," says 30-year-old trader Iuri Nogueira, while businessman Walmor Amorim stresses the positive moment for investors, as "the economy, industry, and employment" are "doing well" in the Latin American giant.
