Eyewitness and residents share their views of fire that broke out Thursday in the spire of the cathedral in the northern French city Rouen.
"Immediately, unfortunately, we make the connection with Notre Dame de Paris and we say to ourselves 'No, my God, the same thing must not happen'," says Astride Viard, whose shop is nearby.
Local fire services said the fire has been extinguished with no major damage reported.
