Description
The Palestine Youth Orchestra performs a concert focused on the Gaza war in Amman, led by Lamar Elias, the first Palestinian female conductor, who also holds the position of Artistic Director of l’Orchestre Symphonique Étudiant de Toulouse. "The existence of the orchestra in this circumstance and us being together is very important. For us, it's one way of resistance... All the pieces in this year's concert were in the name of resilience and resistance," affirms Elias. The Palestine Youth Orchestra, created in 2004 by the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music, comprises around 120 young musicians of Palestinian origin residing around the world.
