Description
Volunteers help release young loggerhead sea turtles in Marbella, southern Spain, with the species becoming more common on Spanish shores as a result of climate change. "Many of these turtles should not originally be nesting here," says biologist Maria Moran, citing an "increase in temperatures" as the reason for the turtles' change in behaviour. The 49 turtles being released hatched on the beach a year ago and have been returned to the sea fitted with tracking devices. The turtle is on the International Union for the Conservation of Nature's red list for threatened species. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
