The French humanitarian association Paris Seine Civil Protection says they have reinforced first-aid services at Olympic venues, as the Paris games wrestled with soaring temperatures of 35 degrees Celsius. "Hyperthermia can happen much more quickly to someone who's been exercising, so it's really important to detect it very quickly," explains Daphne Maurel, general manager of the association. The team adds that they have prepared extra cold packs as well as water, and will check the temperatures of people feeling unwell and move aid stations into the shade during the heatwave.
