Description
Trumpets, drums, dancing and colorful traditional costumes fill Mexico City's emblematic Paseo de la Reforma as the country's Indigenous communities parade to celebrate the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples. Although the 39-year-old Indigenous Minerva Sanchez lives in the Mexican capital, a few hundred kilometers south of her hometown, she keeps her culture close to her heart. "I have not forgotten my clothes, my language or my roots, which is my culture, where I come from, and that is why we are here," she says. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
