Description
A Liverpool house, whose basement is famous for hosting some of The Beatles' first gigs and which still features John Lennon's name scratched into the ceiling and Paul McCartney's paintwork, has been given a new lease of life, listed on Airbnb. Mona Best, the mother of the band's original drummer Pete Best, opened the Casbah Coffee Club in 1959 and the band went on to perform more than 40 times there. "We haven't gone Beatle-tastic. We've just given a sprinkle of each Beatle in each suite," says Roag Best, son of Mona and brother of Pete, whose father was The Beatles' road manager, Neil Aspinall. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
