Description
In the idyllic countryside of Iraq's northern Kurdistan region, a dried-up riverbed testified to water shortages that have heavily impacted the town of Qaladiza, caught between regional governments fighting for resources. The Little Zab river originates in neighbouring Iran and runs on the outskirts of the hillside town of 90,000 residents, who use its water for drinking as well as for agricultural lands and fish farms along its path.
