In a step towards preserving Iraq’s rich heritage, the ancient city of Babylon, in the central Babil Governate, has seen the revival of its famous lake. The project was undertaken in collaboration with government departments. Minister of Water Resources Aoun Diab says decades-long violence and war in Iraq hampered development, stability and tourism.
