Description
As an extreme drought continues to affect Colombia, firefighters are struggling to contain several intense wildfires that have already caused a "loss of magnitude" to the ecosystem, residents say. "Now it's up to all of us to work together to recover everything that has been lost," says the volunteer fire chief in Bojaca, near the capital Bogota, as flames rage through 200 hectares of pine forest in the region.
Authorities say at least 9,000 hectares have been devastated by flames fueled by high temperatures. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
