Four years after the northern Ivory Coast town of Kafolo suffered a deadly jihadist attack and a resulting long term impact on security and confidence, the town is getting back on its feet. That's thanks in part to a double-pronged government plan -- boosting security on the one hand, tackling poverty and youth unemployment on the other. "If young people don't work, bandits can easily recruit them," says Lassina Ouattara, a blacksmith in Kafolo. "With the 30,000 francs I get at the end of the month since I started this program, it helps me buy food," says Seydou Ouattara, a motorcycle mechanic apprentice.
