On the first day of each month, hundreds of people from all faiths flock to Our Lady of Vefa, a Greek Orthodox church in Istanbul's Vefa neighbourhood, to make wishes. "We came with friends and everyone's wish came true," says Emine Sanli, a 50-year-old Muslim woman who attributes her recovery from a hand issue to the water from the church's taps.
