When winter draws in on Antikythera, the already meagre population of the isolated Greek island, nestled between Crete and the Peloponnese in the Aegean Sea, shrinks to almost nothing. "The population is decreasing. We currently have at most 20 to 25 inhabitants in Antikythera in the winter," states mayor Efstratios Harhalakis.
