Survivors of a fuel tank explosion in northern Nigeria describe how crowds of people had rushed to collect fuel spilling from the crashed tanker before the blast happened. “God saved me, among all motorcycle at the scene of the scooping points, it was only my motorcycle and myself that survived”, says Adamu Abdullahi, who narrowly escaped the explosion which tore through the crowd killing at least 147 people.
