Amid a severe meat and poultry shortage in Gaza Strip since the war began more than a year ago, a Palestinian poultry farmer resorted to homemade incubators he set up at his home in Gaza City. Previously a poultry farm worker, he successfully hatched chicks and aims to expand production despite the challenging wartime conditions. "We sought to find chickens that were unharmed during the war. We would take between five to six chickens, then collect the eggs, placing every 30 to 40 eggs in the incubator until they hatch," he says. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
