Gérard Depardieu's trial for sexually assaulting two women during a film shoot in 2021 opens without the French actor, due to alleged health reasons. ‘Unfortunately, his doctors have prescribed a ban on him appearing today’, says lawyer Jérémie Assous on arriving at the hearing, adding that he would be asking the court for a six-month postponement so that Gérard Depardieu can defend himself.
