Hundreds gather in the city of Diyarbakir to protest against the sacking of three mayors in Turkey's Kurdish-majority southeast. The mayors have been sacked on alleged "terrorism" charges, despite Ankara's apparent desire to improve relations with the country's Kurdish community. In one sweep, mayors of Mardin, Batman and Halfeti - all three representing DEM, the main pro-Kurdish party - have lost their positions and been replaced by trustees, according to Turkey's interior ministry.
