In Ivory Coast leke sandals, the plastic footwear also known as jelly shoes or jellies, are extremely popular. "When we say Côte d'Ivoire, we mean leke," says Kassoum Sanogo, a delivery worker in Abidjan. "Leke are selling well, very well in fact" says Ramatou Sylla who has a stall at Abidjan’s Treichville market. “Even people who come from elsewhere, they come for the leke too.
