Description
Speaking on the third day of the COP29 climate change conference in Baku, Azerbaijan, global indigenous representatives fault leaders for not doing enough for their communities who "live closer to nature" and are "incredibly climate vulnerable". The comments come as Brazil submits its Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) at the conference, which commits to developing renewable energy but holds back from any mention of fossil fuels in the document, a move Brazilian activists say is hypocritical given President Lula's attempts to improve indigenous representation in politics.
