"We have published a streamlined package of the draft decisions," says Yalchin Rafiyev, COP29 lead negotiator, following the publication of the latest climate pact at the talks hosted in Baku, Azerbaijan. "We will continue to work with the parties to make the final adjustments," he adds. The draft text received criticism for its stated goal of $250 billion a year in climate finance, a figure the African Group of Negotiators called "unacceptable" and "inadequate".
