Description
Mozambique's ruling Frelimo party holds a rally in the capital Maputo to voice support for their presidential candidate Daniel Chapo, who was declared the winner in last month's disputed election by the Southern African nation's election authority, and to call for peace after weeks of violent and deadly protests following the vote. "Come back home Venancio," says Frelimo member Flavia Cumbane at the rally, referring to opposition presidential candidate Venancio Mondlane, who said Friday he would accept President Filipe Nyusi's offer of talks on terms including they be held virtually and legal proceedings against him are dropped.
