Description
Ahead of International Volunteers Day on 5 December, employees of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) pay tribute to 31 of their volunteers and staff who died or were killed while performing their humanitarian duties this year. "2024 was the deadliest year in the humanitarian sector in terms of losses," says Nena Stoiljkovic, IFRC Under Secretary General for Global Relations, Humanitarian Diplomacy and Digitalisation, in front of the organisation's headquarters in Geneva.
