French far-right figurehead and National Front (FN) founder Jean-Marie Le Pen has died at the age of 96. Le Pen, who had been in a care facility for several weeks, died on Tuesday "surrounded by his loved ones," the family said in a statement. In an interview with AFP in March 2023, Le Pen spoke about what he wanted to be remembered for after his death.
