The huge fires that broke out in the Los Angeles area last week are the third "calamity" to hit the Hollywood industry in recent years, following the Covid -19 pademic and the writers and actors strike. "It will definitely change the face of the population and the industry," says Hollywood industry expert Karie Bible. At least 24 people have died in the blazes, which have destroyed 12,000 structures and forced 92,000 people from their homes, including the well-to-do Pacific Palisades, just a few miles (kilometers) from the firefighters' camp.
