Human Rights Watch (HRW) says there is a growing trend of African governments showing a “blatant intolerance for dissent, criticism, and peaceful protests.” HRW Executive Director on the continent, Mausi Segun also adding that states are “taking from each other's playbooks to repress.” Her comments came at a media briefing in the Kenyan capital Nairobi, as the agency releases its world report.
