Rail infrastructure operator SNCF Réseau places an order worth a billion euros for rails produced at the Saarstahl Rail plant in Hayange, using recycled steel from the Ascoval plant in Saint-Saulve (Nord), also belonging to the Saarstahl group. "This contract symbolizes the efforts made by successive governments to establish a steel industry that is both carbon-free and highly competitive," says French Minister of Ecological Transition Agnes Pannier-Runacher.
