Description
Thousands of people demonstrate in central Athens demanding "justice" for the families of the 57 people killed in the 2023 train disaster in Tempi, northern Greece, the worst rail accident in the country's history. There have been allegations that the train was carrying "illegal cargo", included chemical substances which might have fuelled the explosion after the crash, and which many say was made worse by the government's poor maintenance of the railways. Maria Karystianou, the mother of one of the victims, says the government have been trying to cover up its responsibility for the disaster, adding "this should not happen". IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
