Description
Residents of Kinshasa, the Congolese capital, hope that the Rwanda-backed M23 group will "find common ground with the government" and halt its offensive, in which it has so far claimed control of the eastern city of Goma. "It's been less than a week in Goma," says Eugeni Masoka Luundo, "but there are already more than 700 dead". On Saturday, the president of neighbouring Burundi warned that the conflict risks becoming a regional war. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
