Huge crowds gather in Berlin to protest against against the German conservatives' norm-shattering overtures towards the far right, after the CDU last week sought AfD support for an anti-immigration bill. Since the end of WW2, German parties have had an unwritten agreement not to work with the far right. "The events in parliament this week were a shock for me," says Uta, adding that "promises from Merz," CDU leader and chancellory candidate, "were simply broken."
