Description
The Inhaa-be indigenous village inaugurates the first cinema in an Amazon indigenous territory. The "Cine Aldeia" project, led by Indigenous filmmaker Thais Kokama and launched in 2019, has become a cultural hub for film screenings and workshops. The opening featured Kokama's documentary "Traços da Resistencia" ("Traces of Resistance") along with eight short films showcasing Indigenous talent from across Brazil.
The Inhaa-be community is home to Indigenous families primarily from the Satere-Mawe, Kokama, Tikuna, and Mura ethnic groups. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
