Description
Lam Magok, a migrant from South Sudan, claims to have been imprisoned and tortured in a Tripoli detention center run by Osama Almasri Najim, head of the Libyan judicial police wanted for war crimes and crimes against humanity by the International Criminal Court (ICC). Arrested in Turin, Mr. Najim was repatriated to Tripoli two days later, the Italian government attributing the responsibility for his release to a poorly drafted ICC arrest warrant. Lam Magok therefore decided to file a complaint against Giorgia Meloni, and a special court was seized. "Sending him back to Libya," warns Mr. Magok, is "giving them the power to go and torture and kill the rest of the migrant women and children and men who are innocent.” IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
