Africa has the youngest population in the world, with 70% of sub-Saharan Africa's population under the age of 30. AFP met with young people across the continent to speak to them about their hopes and fears for the future. Kenyan social work student Geoffrey Mboya, says he feels proud that young people in Kenya are becoming “politically awake” and “rising up”, including during protests in the summer of 2024 in response to the government’s controversial finance bill.
