Description
French Senator Mélanie Vogel argues that President Emmanuel Macron's nominee, confirmed as the next president of the Constitutional Council, Richard Ferrand, "doesn't even know what the powers of the institution he is supposed to preside over tomorrow are." The candidacy of the long-time Macron loyalist was approved by a vote in the law commissions of both chambers of Parliament. Thirty-nine parliamentarians voted in favour and fifty-eight against.
