In al-Zulfi, a small town in the Saudi desert, winter rains have been forming a seasonal lake for the past three years. This phenomenon delights the inhabitants and attracts visitors from all over the Gulf countries who come to cool off and participate in water sports, including jet skiing. "The strange thing about this place is that the water is located between the sand dunes," says al-Zulfi resident Issam Hamad, adding that "people from various Gulf countries, such as Kuwait, Dubai, and Qatar, visit this spot."
