South Sudan to replace army contingent in Upper Nile after clashes in two regions killed civilians, injured a UN peacekeeper, and displaced thousands, according to Human Rights Watch, which fears an escalation. “In the Upper Nile and specifically in the Nasir area, they (South Sudan People’s Defense Forces, SSPDF, ed) have stayed for long.
