For nearly 24 hours, hundreds of Peruvian firefighters have been battling a major blaze in downtown Lima, with no injuries or deaths reported, according to Cesar Calderon, the municipality's Disaster Risk Manager.
A clandestine warehouse caught fire on Monday evening around 6 p.m. The blaze is now "contained," but "the large amount of flammable material inside the building" and "difficult access" are preventing firefighters from fully extinguishing it, Calderon explains. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
